Stampin' Up!'s My Digital Studio

Well, I am out of state with my family back home. I left all my crafting supplies at my house. The one thing I do have is my laptop. I finally realized that I can still design cards even if I don't have any supplies, I have My Digital Studio! Here is a card I designed today.

Hope you enjoy!

Sorry

So sorry I haven't posted in awhile. I had to go out of town to see a few family members in the hospital. Unfortunately, that didn't leave a lot of time for stamping. I'm back now and I can start creating again. Thanks for your patience.

Halloween Trio

Here is my interpretation of Sketch Frenzy Friday's sketch from Sept. 3rd.
The owl and ghost are from our Two-Step Owl Punch. The faces of the ghost and jack-o-lantern are from the Pumpkin Faces Sizzlits Die. The pumpkin is also a Sizzlits Die, Pumpkin #4. I wheeled the Jumbo Wheel Frightful Fence in Early Espresso on Crumb Cake cardstock. The whole thing is layered on Rich Razzleberry.

Delightfully Clean and Simple

This card combined quite a few different challenges.
Layout: Clean & Simply FLT106

Theme: The Paper Players #14, Christmas Card Challenges #40

Pearls: Pals Paper Arts PPA58
The card base is Early Espresso. I used the Scalloped Trimmed Border and Corner Punches on Marina Mist cardstock. The sentiment is from Four the Holidays and stamped with Early Espresso ink. The ornaments are from Delightful Decorations and Tags til Christmas, stamped with Real Red ink, and punched with the Ornament Punch. I used 3 different sizes of pearls from Jewels Basic Pearls pack.

Alex's Blue Jimmie

This card was inspired by a lot of different things. Stampin' Celebration's Inspiration Challenge #18 is to create something to celebrate the end of summer. This summer we had a great vacation in Virginia. Alex was so excited that he caught a blue jimmie crab in Grandpa's crab pot. I combined 2 sketches to get my layout, Stamping 411 SSC167 and Our Creative Corner Sketch Challenge 31.

I think my biggest inspiration is Ellen Kemper. She is an amazing punch artist and I visit her blog almost every day. I wanted to do a crab card but I don't have any current Stampin' Up! sets with crabs. I decided that I would try my hand at creating a crab out of punches. The body is the Ornament Punch with the top rounded off with the Large Oval Punch. Jimmie's arms are the medium heart from Heart to Heart Punch, punched in half again by the same heart. The claws are the large heart from the Heart to Heart Punch, cut in half and rounded parts glued together. The eyes are from the Two-Step Owl Punch. Jimmie is punched out of Pacific Point. The wooden posts are Sahara Sand inked with the Woodgrain stamp in Early Espresso. The background blue is Baja Breeze. I layered everything on Confetti White Cardstock.

Thank You, Thank You

Here's my interpretation of last week's Stamping 411 Saturday Sketch Challenge 166.
I used the Color Coach to combine Night of Navy, Old Olive, and Daffodil Delight. The stamp set is Engraved Greetings. The other stamp in this set says "Happy Birthday". This layout would work with either sentiment.

Three Little Eastern Blooms

Have I told you how much I like Stampin' Up's Color Coach? That's where I found this combo.
I found this sketch @ Clean & Simple Stamping. I think I added a few more layers than they intended. I felt that I needed a small Basic Black mat between the Cherry Cobbler and Marina Mist. The flower stamp is from Eastern Blooms and stamped with River Rock ink. The sentiment is from Three Little Words. The beauty of this stamp set is that it has 6 different sentiments that go with 3 little words. Since I don't make many condolence cards, that was my choice for the inside of this card.

Lately I have been doing the inside of my cards to coordinate with the outside. It takes a little longer, but I like the look.

Christmas Tag Tree Card

Here is a my interpretation of Pals Paper Arts' Simply Sketchy PPA57.I used Cherry Cobbler for the base, Very Vanilla, Early Espresso, and Old Olive Designer Series Paper. The Early Espresso Tag is from the Two Tags Bigz Dies.
The stamp set is Snow Swirled. I used Old Olive ink for the tree and Cherry Cobbler ink for the snowflakes. The snowflake on the top of the tree has a Basic Rhinestone to make it special. I topped it all off with Old Olive Grosgrain Ribbon.

Look @ Me being Girly!

Hi all! For today's card I really went out of my comfort zone. I combined Stampin' Celebration Inspiration Challenge #17 with Sweet Stampin Challenge #41.Stampin' Celebration's Challenge was to make a very girly birthday card with pink & white cupcakes. I may have gone a little overboard on the pink! Sweet Stampin Challenge was to create a distressed birthday card. My husband, being the wise mouth he is, thought that the card needed to show stress about the birthday. Ha Ha Ha. I had to educate him. My distressing on this card is pretty subtle. I took my fingernail and roughed up the edges of the mats and turned down the right hand corner. I used 2 different stamp sets, Cute by the Inch and A Word for You. The patterned paper is Blushing Bride from the Level 1 hostess paper pack.
The mats are done in Regal Rose while the card base and paper ribbon are Pretty in Pink. I used Rose Red to stamp the image of the cupcake. I think I have used enough pink on this card to last me for awhile.

I love you Mojomonday!

For today's card I combined Mojo Monday sketch 153 and Color Throwdown 107.
The i and u are from Jumble Alphabet. The love heart is from I {Heart} Hearts. I used the Full Heart punch for the white heart and the Heart to Heart punch for the inner heart. The smaller heart was embossed with Vintage Wallpaper Textured Impressions Folder before I punched it. The Pear Pizzaz Designer Series Paper is from the Level 1 Hostess paper pack.

Punch Art

I absolutely LOVE punch art but I don't really make the time to create it. This card uses 2 apples I made with the Round Tab punch. The seeds are the heart from the Two-Step Owl punch cut in half. I just cut the stems free-hand.

Clean & Simple

I decided to do the Clean & Simple Stamping Challenge #104.

I really like the Tangerine Tango, Rich Razzleberry, and Old Olive paired with Basic Black. I used the Happy Halloween sentiment from All the Holidays stamp set. The beauty of this sketch is that you can use it with any little sentiment. The Teeny Tiny Wishes set works wonderfully with this layout.

FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL!

Here is a card I designed for my friend for the first day of school. I got the sketch from The Sweet Stop.

I used the First Day stamp set with Basic Black, Whisper White, and Pear Pizzaz cardstock. The patterned paper is Real Real Designer Series Paper. I used the Spiral Border punch to get the look of notebook paper. I used a combination of 2 different techniques to color in the images. I used markers and my Blender Pens with the classic ink pads.

I'm Back!

I decided to combine a few challenges for this card. The layout is from Mojo Monday. I found the color combo of Always Artichoke, Pretty in Pink, and Cherry Cobbler from Splitcoast Stampers color challenge CC284. I also used Stampin' Celebrations and Pals Paper Arts for the theme. It's a little different than I usually make but I'm happy with it.

Aargh! I'm having computer issues again! I'll try and post some new creations soon, I just have to figure out how to edit my photos on the family computer. Thanks for your patience.

Let it Snow!

It is H-O-T HOT here in Texas. I decided to make a winter inspired card to try to cool off. I used Sketch Frenzy Friday for the layout.
Have I told you how much I like Stampin' Up!'s Color Coach? That's where I found this color combination: Bashful Blue, Wild Wasabi, and Rose Red. I used our new Textured Impressions Folder Northern Flurry (available in Sept.) on the Bashful Blue cardstock. The penguin image is from the Tag Along stamp set and the sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Wishes.

Valentine's Day Anyone?

No, I'm not getting ready for any holidays yet. I'm not even ready for back-to-school! I saw this challenge on colourQ (challenge #45) and thought that it would work well with this stamp set. The layout came from Splitcoast Stampers Sketch Challenge 293.

I am really enjoying doing these color challenges. They get me out of my comfort zone and put colors together that I ordinarily wouldn't. The color combination here is Regal Rose, Wild Wasabi, Tempting Turquoise, Early Espresso, and Whisper White. I used the Sweetheart stamp set. I textured the Regal Rose cardstock with Petals-a-Plenty Embossing folder. To get the depth of color in the heart, I inked the folder with Whisper White Craft Ink before I textured the paper. I then used the Full Heart Punch get the exact placement I wanted of the petals.

Happy Birthday Circus

Here is my entry into the stampin411 Saturday Sketch Challenge 163.

I used Circle Circus and Perfect Punches stamp sets. The color inspiration came from SplitcoastStampers Color Challenge #61. I used Elegant Eggplant cardstock for the base, Basic Black cardstock for the mat and tag, Whisper White cardstock for the stamped images, and Pear Pizzaz carstock for the strip. I also used Elegant Eggplant, Pear Pizzaz, and Baja Breeze inks.

colourQ & Unscripted Challenges

I decided to try colourQ challenge #44 along with Unscripted Sketches #67. Unfortunately, I was too late to enter in the colourQ challenge. : ( Maybe I'll do better with tomorrow's challenge.

I used Fun & Fast Notes for the image and stamped it on Sizziz Clearlits Scallop Rectangle. The So Saffron cardstock was textured with Textured Impressions Square Lattice folder. I used the Petals-A-Plenty Textured Impressions folder on the Poppy Parade cardstock. The Bashful Blue card base was wheeled with Very Vintage Jumbo Wheel in Bashful Blue. I used an Aqua Painter and the ink pads to color in the image.

Mojo Monday #151

Here is my entry for this week's Mojo Monday. I used the Artistic Etchings stamp set, Newsprint DSP, Two Tags Bigz Die, and various Stampin' Up! Punches. The card base and amour mat are Old Olive; the tag is Real Red; amour is stamped on Very Vanilla and also has Very Vanilla Satin Ribbon; the DSP is matted on Basic Black, and everything is on Crumb Cake.

Clean & Simple Stamping

I was surfing the web and found ANOTHER site for inspiration. Here's my entry into the cleanandsimplestamping.blogspot.com sketch challenge #102. I personally love the look of cards that are simple and have clean lines.

I used Cute by the Inch and Heard from the Heart stamp sets. The card base and heart punches are Blushing Bride, the mat and ink color is Early Espresso, and the love hearts were stamped on Ridinghood Red. I got the color inspiration from Splitcoast Color Combo 282.

Season of Friendship

This is my entry for the Stamping 411 Saturday Sketch Challenge 162.

I used the Woodgrain background stamp and Season of Friendship stamp set for this card. The flower and card base is Poppy Parade. The leaves and 1/4" grograin ribbon is Old Olive. The snowflake and words were stamped in Not Quite Navy. The flower and snowflake have rhinestones in the center for a little bling. The Wordgrain stamp was inked with Crumb Cake and Early Espresso on Crumb Cake cardstock.

Retired For Sale

Some of my customers have been asking about my retired stamps and accessories I have cleaned out of my stash. Since I'm not as computer savvy as I'd like, I haven't figured out how to attach a link to a document. If you'd like a list of my retired things for sale just e-mail me @ busyteresa@att.net and I will send you my excel document. I will have these things for sale @ Take-a-Break Friday on the 13th of August. Let me know if you'd like me to save something for you.

Summer Fun

I was looking for inspiration and decided to combine 2 splitcoast stamper challenges into 1 card.

This card uses 3 of our new colors. Pear Pizzaz and Concord Crush are 2 new In Colors and Daffodil Delight is a new core color in the Brights Collection. I used the citrus stamp from the Tart & Tangy stamp set. When I saw this color combo I immediately thought of lemonade. Doesn't it make you want to pour a big glass and sit by the pool?

Hello Baby!

Here is the card I did for the stamping 411 sketch.

I really liked the color scheme that was used with this stamp set on page 96 of the 2010-2011 Idea book & Catalog. The Baja Breeze and Crumb Cake work really well together. The buttons are from the Sizzlits Die Buttons #5. I used a trick from a rival company consultant for the button ties. I just used thin strips of cardstock! Thank you Janice. My 3 year old helped me with this card. He stamped a few of the images and helped with the punching. He was very disappointed that we didn't have time to finish it before bedtime. I had to tell him that I would show him in the morning when he woke up.

Christmas in July

I saw this project on a Stampin' Up publication and knew I had to CASE it. I used a 6" styrofoam cone and pinned 3/4" circles to it with sequin pins. The colors I used are Baja Breeze, Wild Wasabi, and Early Espresso. I wheeled the Cornelli Lace Jumbo Wheel with VersaMark on the cardstock before I punched out all the circles. The topper is from the Perfect Punches stamp set.

Happy Holidays

Yesterday was MojoMonday again. Here is my card.

I used Basic Black, Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla, and Real Red cardstock. The patterned paper is from the Newsprint Designer Series Paper pack. I used the Tree Trimming and Four the Holidays stampsets with Real Red, Crumb Cake, and Old Olive ink. The ribbon is 5/8" satin Very Vanilla. The borders were done with the Scallop Trim Border and Scallop Trim Corner punches.

My Digital Studio

Hi everyone! I finally had a chance to play with my new computer. I installed Stampin' Up!'s My Digital Studio and decided to work on my blog header. I had a lot of fun playing around. As I get better with the software, I'll change up my header. I love that the My Digital Studio still has the colors that just retired! If I'm missing my Close To Cocoa or Ruby Red, I can just create something in My Digital Studio.

Birthday Thanks

I now have a 7-year-old in the house! Alex picked out the colors for his Thank you notes and he ran the Big Shot and textured the Tangerine Tango cardstock. I added crystal effects to the icing for a touch of bling. With boys in the house, I don't have glitter around. : )

Great Inspiration!

I was surfing and found this great website to use for inspiration: http://www.mojomonday.blogspot.com/

Here is this week's sketch:

I used a pair of my favorite shorts for the colors. Here's my interpretation.
I used Marina Mist for the card base, Whisper White cardstock and ribbon, Basic Gray for the rectangle, Wild Wasabi for the square mats, and the Designer Series Paper is Pear Pizzaz from the Greenhouse Gala pack. I used the Textured Impressions Vintage Wallpaper Folder to add interest. I brought out my Dreams du Jour stamp set. I'd forgotten how much I like this set. You will probably be seeing more of it!

Sorry I haven't posted! This week is VBS @ church and I am helping with the games. Needless-to-say, I have been pretty tuckered out when I get home. Never fear, I am at my desk right now working on more projects to post.

Because I Care (again)

I used the Because I Care and Solid Stripes stamp sets for this card. I like the simplicity of the stamped image without coloring it like I did on the other card I posted. That's my way of saying I was lazy and didn't want to color it in! : ) I used my new Color Coach to help me choose this combo. The card base and the mat are Marina Mist. The squares are Perfect Plum inked with VersaMark (my Perfect Plum ink pad hadn't arrived yet). I used Basic Black to help everything POP. I remember one of the Designers on Trading Spaces said every room needs a punch of black. The tag I used is from the Sizzix Lots of Tags 4 pack. I really like this new ribbon too. It is 1/8 in Taffeta Ribbon in Basic Black. You can find it in the new catalog in several different colors.

We are back from vacation and things are hopping. I'm working this week and VBS is next week. Don't worry, I'll keep posting cards. I just need to find a little more time to make more. : )

Happy Birthday USA!

My friend found the instructions for this wreath in her Family Fun magazine. I used 4 sheets each of Whisper White, Real Red, and Pacific Point cardstock cut to 4"X5". The red and blue stars are punched with Stampin' Up!'s punches, while the white stars are cie cut with Sizzix Originals Star #2 die. I'm considering designing wreaths for Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. If you're interested, let me know.

Patriotic Pops

This card just says SUMMER to me. I used Confetti White cardstock for the base. The popsicles are rectangles of Real Red, Confetti White, and Pacific Point with the top corners rounded. I stamped the Woodgrain stamp in Chocolate Chip ink on Crumb Cake cardstock. Then I punched it out with the word window punch. The popsicles are layered on Bashful Blue cardstock inked with the Dotted Jumbo Wheel.

Homemade

This little bag uses another sheet of Greenhouse Gala Designer Series Paper. I used the Homemade stamp with Pear Pizzaz ink for the center and punched it out with the 1 3/4 circle punch. It is layered on a Pumpkin Pie Extra Large Scalloped Circle. I used a mini library clip to hold everything together. This will be a great project to make for the holiday season with some festive colors.

Sweet Centers Balloon

This card uses another stamp from the Sweet Centers stamp set. The designer series paper I used is from the new Idea Book & Catalog. When I saw this paper, I knew that it would be perfect as the balloon in this set. The cardbase is Baja Breeze. I wheeled the houses at the bottom in the same color ink to give it a subtle effect.

Because I Care

Here is a peek at a Level 1 set from the new Idea Book & Catalog. This card uses the Because I Care stamp set. This set will be available for hostesses to earn free with a qualifying party. I also used a few new colors. The card base is Concord Crush, a new In Color. I also used Daffodil Delight, a new color in the Brights Collection . The sentiment was punched using large oval punch and matted on Sizzix Sizzlits Lots of Tags Label 3. I made this card for my upline Joni. She went into the hospital for surgery. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers.

Sweet Centers

Do you remember this stamp set form the Holiday Mini last year? I absolutely LOVE it. Well, it has made it into the new Idea Book and Catalog. This set coordinates with the Sweet Treat Cups and the 1 3/4" circle punch. For this project I actually used the 1 3/8" circle punch, that's why it has the white ring around the hole. I found that the other hole was too big for the lollipops. One thing that makes me sad about this project is that the Double Rectangle punch used to make the slits for the ribbon is on the Retiring List. I guess I'll just have to tie the ribbon around the stick at the top now. The double rectangle punch reminds me of my wedding invitations. We used the rectangular slits to tie the printed vellum to the textured cardstock. I can't believe we picked those out 12 years ago. Wow, how time flies.

Computer Crash! Arg!

Well, it finally happened. Our home computer crashed. Poor thing couldn't even recognize Windows. I have been diligently making new projects and taking pictures. I was hoping to post a picture today but I'm still trying to figure out the programs on the netbook. For the next little while, my pictures will not be cropped and won't have the copyright mark on them. Just know that everything I post is a Stampin' Up! product unless otherwise noted. I am really looking forward to shopping for a new computer. If I'm lucky, we'll get a new tower for home and I'll get a laptop for my Stampin' Up! business. Keep your fingers crossed!

Happy Dad's Day!

I hope everyone has a great day today. This is a mini squash book I designed for my DH last year. It is 4 1/4" square when folded. Inside I decorated it with pictures trimmed to 4" square. I used Not Quite Navy as the base and the ink color. The mats are Creamy Caramel (retiring) and Pumpkin Pie. The stamped image is from the All Holidays set. That is such a versatile set. I tend to use it often. I'm glad it's sticking around.

Christmas Treat Box

This is a little treat box using the Hostess Level 2 set Christmas Punch. Remember, this is the last month to order products from the 2009-2010 Idea Book & Catalog. The ribbon I used is Whisper White Organza. This is one of my favorit ribbons. I'm glad that it will continue to be in the new catalog!

Last of the 8 Great Greetings Series

Well, here is the last picture from this stamp set. I did the dad card in Not Quite Navy and Pumpkin Pie. Can you tell that my DH went to the University of Illinois? GO ILLINI! Check out the Father's Day post and you'll see this color combo again. : ) Even though these are on 3" square cards, you can use the same idea and transfer them onto a regular card by mounting on a strip of Designer Series Paper or textured cardstock.

Third in the 8 Great Greetings Series

This is a cute little bunny. I used my Stampin' Pastels to color him. I usually prefer solid images like the one on the right. Personally, I think I need to work on my coloring. : ) Practice makes perfect!

Saturday, June 12, 2010

Second in the 8 Great Greetings Series

These cards are very simple. I tend to use clean lines when designing. I made these a-year-and-a-half ago (before I purchased my Big Shot). If I were re-doing these, I would probably add a little texture to the mats underneath the circles. The C in congratulations is puched with 2 different punches. After stamping in Not Quite Navy, I punched out the entire image and then punched out the inside. The notch was cut free-hand.

Thursday, June 10, 2010

First in the 8 Great Greetings Series

This is the first entry in a series of cards I made with the Eight Great Greetings Stamp Set (retiring June 30th). These cards are 3"X3". I wanted to show how you can make cards with a pack of assorted neutral cardstock and a pack of assorted color family cardstock. In this series I used the Earth Elements with Sahara Sand as the card base.

Take me out to the ballgame!

Here is the outside cover of my baseball squash book. The cover is vinyl with the stitching painted on with fabric paint. Closed, this album measures 6" square. The inside is made using 3 - 12"X12" pages of cardstock. The inside pages are hand stamped on Whisper White cardstock to color coordinate with the team. I sold some of these to my friend's tee-ball team. I found it funny that he was on my favorite team, the CUBS! I used the stamp sets Just Baseball and Sporting. Both of these stamp sets are on the Last Chance List so you 'd better get them now while you have the chance! I got so much use out of these 2 stamp sets. I didn't have to worry about trying to find scrapbook paper to coordinate with the tee-ball team's colors, I just made my own! The lettering is done with the Varsity Alphabet and Varsity Numbers stamp sets. I used my Stamp-a-ma-jig to line up the letters and numbers.
