Fun on 4 Wheels

Hi!  A few months ago my son attended a rollerskating party.  It's really hard to get good pictures @ the skating rink.  Here's the scrapbook page I designed.
The rollerskate is made from the Holiday Stocking Bigz die.  I trimmed it slightly to look more like a skate.  The stopper is the retired round tab punch.

Gotta tag it!

Today was teacher appreciation @ my day job. We each got a cool insulated lunch tote from our boss, I decided to make a coordinating tag for it.

I used the Circle Circus stamp set with Crumb Cake, Pumpkin Pie, Melon Mambo, and Basic Black ink. The ABC stamp set is Sweet Shoppe.

Collapsible Tool Tote

Isn't this GREAT?!? I got the idea from Janet Holmes, a fellow demonstrator in my Stampin' Up! family. It is made with 12 Scallop Squares cut from fabric. I used some old Mary Englebright fabric from my stash for this first one. The best part is that the bottom is attached on 3 sides with ribbon ties. You can untie the ribbon and it folds up for easy storage! I can't wait to make some with our new Summer Smooches fabric.

Making Fabric Lollies!

Aren't these the cutest little things? I've been cutting Scallop Squares from the new Summer Smooches fabric (from the new catalog sneak peak collection available April 1st) and I couldn't BEAR to throw away the scraps so I decided to make these fabric lollies.
The first thing I did was take a 1"X 4.5" rectangle of fabric and fold it in half (right sides together). I sewed the 1" sides together to form a loop. The next part is difficult to explain. I folded the top edge to meet the bottom edge, wrong sides togetherI used gathering stitches around the raw edge and pulled it tight. To finish the lollie I thought I'd add a button or brad in the middle. Here's a picture of the scallop squares that I cut out of the Summer Smooches fabric. I have a feeling I'll be buying a lot more of this fabric!

Sweet Shop Birthday

Hi Everyone!

This card was inspired by 2 different challenges. The layout is from Sketch Frenzy Friday. The birthday card theme ties in with the Techno Stamper Blogger's Challenge this week. I used Pool Party as the base and textured it with Perfect Polka Dots Embossing folder. The Designer Series Paper is from the Sweet Shop suite and matted on Island Indigo cardstock. The strawberry is a full heart punched from Calypso Coral, textured with Perfect Polka Dots Embossing folder, and colored with the Signo White Gel Pen. The top of the strawberry is the middle flower punch from Boho Blossoms in Lucky Limeade. I also used Lucky Limeade Baker's Twine on the Whisper White band. The sentiment is from Perfect Punches.

Sweet Center Imagine

Howdy!

Today's inspiration came from Stampin 411 and Color Throwdown. I used the Sweet Centers and Loving Thoughts stamp sets. Instead of using a Circle Treat Cup, I punched the 1 3/4" circle out of Designer Series Paper. The balloon background was sponged in Baja Breeze using the top of the cupcake punch as a mask for the clouds. Thanks for coming.

Upline Challenge

Hello Everyone!

Today's inspiration comes from my Demonstrator Group's monthly swap. Our challenge was to find inspiration from a Stampin' Up! publication. It could be a direct copy, a variation, something that uses the same technique, or whatever you are inspired to make thanks to someone else’s idea. I decided to use the format of a card from the Idea Book and Catalog. My card is a version of the middle project found on page 98 of the IBC. The card base is 6" square, folded in the middle to make a 6" X 3" card in Poppy Parade. If you look, you will see that there is a score line 1/8" around the perimeter of the card. I just used my Simply Scored to achieve this element. The flower image is from the Season of Friendship stampset. I used Wild Wasabi, Baja Breeze, and So Safron ink. The inside brads are Certainly Celery, Marina Mist, and So Saffron from the Subtles Collection. The Decorative Label was punched from So Saffron. The sentiment is from the Flight of the Butterfly stampset. I love that I'm not locked into using the same images others have used. I look through my stamp sets and find stamps that will work with other people's designs. You don't have to reinvent the wheel, just tweek it a little. : ) Happy Creating (or copying!)

Engagement Card

My cousin got engaged so I decided to send him and his fiance a congratulations card. I found the layout @ Sketch Frenzy Friday.

I used Basic Gray, Daffodil Delight, Baja Breeze, and Whisper White cardstock. The Designer Series paper is from Sweet Shop. The sentiment is from my new favorite stamp set, Loving Thoughts. The hearts are hanging from Calypso Coral Baker's Twine. I textured the cardstock with the heart folder from the Adorning Accents Textured Impressions Embossing Folders and then punched out the Small Heart. I love the look of using the Labels Collection Framelit Dies. The design on the card based was made by wheeling the I {Love} Love Jumbo Wheel in Basic Gray.
Making pretty cards is nice, but I also like to decorate a coordinating envelope to put them in. Here is the envelope I made to go with this card.

Sympathy for a Friend

Unfortunately I was in need of a sympathy card. I found this layout @ Stampin 411. The card base is Not Quite Navy. The Designer Series Paper is from Paisley Petals. I also used Pear Pizzaz, Whisper White, Baja Breeze, and Cajun Craze cardstock. The "with sympathy" sentiment is from Loving Thoughts, the image under it is from Artistic Etchings, and the flower is Triple Treat Flower. I used Eyelet Border, Fancy Flower, 5-Petal Flower, and 1/2" Circle punches.

Clean & Simple

Hi All!

For today's card I took inspiration from Clean & Simple Stamping FTL 179. The challenge was to have a 1 layer card. I used the rocking technique on the stamped image from Day of Gratitude. I inked the entire stamp in Baja Breeze and then rocked the edges around the Wild Wasabi ink pad. The words are from the Loving Thoughts stamp set. That set is becoming one of my favorites. It seems to have whatever sentiment I'm looking for.

Just Because

Hello All! Lately I have been trying to use up the 2010-2012 In Colors since they will be retiring at the end of May. I got the sketch design for this card from The Paper Players. I used Confetti White for the card base, Concord Crush for the large layer, Pear Pizzaz for the middle layer, and Peach Parfait for the tag and inked image down the middle. I used the same image from the Circle Circus stamp set to add interest to the card base. The middle section was textured with the Square Lattice Embossing Folder. The Peach Parfait label is punched from the Decorative Label punch. I punched a complete label out and stuck it to a sticky note so I could punch it again to make it smaller. I used the same technique on the "just because" with the Word Window punch. Sticky notes are very handy tools in your crafting area. The last item I used is Linen Thread on the label.

Morning Cup

Today's card qualifies for the Our Creative Corner, "Over the Edge" Challenge. The base of the card is Not Quite Navy. I cut it 4 1/4" X 8 1/2". I scored it in half and placed the Labels Collection Framelits Die on the score line. When I ran it through the Big Shot, I placed the edge of the cutting pad on the score line so only half the framelit was cut. To cut the 4" X 4" Everyday Enchantment Designer Series Paper, I used dotto repositional adhesive to adhear it to the side of the card that the cutting pad covered (the back of the card). I then switched the DSP to the front of the card. It's easier to do than to explain. : ) I punched a Pear Pizzaz cardstock ribbon with the Dotted Scalloped Ribbon Border. At the bottom of the card I used a punch from the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack in Not Quite Navy with Basic Rhinestones in the middle. The stamp is from the Morning Cup stamp set colored in with Pear Pizzaz, Not Quite Navy, and Peach Parfait Stampin' Write Markers. This card will fit in a standard A2 envelope.

I Dig You Birthday

I had so much fun creating this card. I used the I Dig You stamp set. It was easy to make it different colors by using my Stampin' Write Markers. I added silver brads to the wheels. The rectangle on the right is textured with the Square Lattice Textured Impressions Folder. This card works great for this week's Sweet Stampin' Challenge, masculine card.
